Just finished a song today. It's taken over 6 months to finish it. Half of it was getting to grip with congregational composition, and the other was the lyrical content. The song is about the Crucifixion, asking Jesus to lead us and show us what he went through. I've tried to keep it hard hitting as I get somewhat frustrated at songs that refer to the crucifixion as a nice, happy, and cheery occasion. So it's taken a really good while to get it down to the point I'm happy with it. In the end its the realization that this is an act of love unlike any other before or since.
